Nick Trovato
BSc, MEng, FEC, P.Eng. | Managing Principal

As Managing Principal of RJC Edmonton’s Building Science and Restoration practice, Nick provides consulting services in the evaluation and restoration of existing building envelopes and structures as well as design and quality control for new building envelope systems. He has been involved in a number of projects, from single-storey wood buildings to high-rise concrete and steel buildings and with all types of cladding systems.

To each project, Nick brings a strong understanding of the structure performance as well as the building exterior.  He provides building envelope consultation on new buildings and on litigation related work on existing buildings and has worked with many architects and owners in the design of building cladding systems.  His experience with the evaluation and restoration of existing systems is of benefit when designing new systems.  He is also an expert in fall arrest systems for both new and existing buildings.

Nick has presented papers and presentations on Building Science and Restoration to groups such as the American Concrete Institute’s (ACI) international conference in Seattle, BOMA, CCI, and the CONSEC international conference on durability of concrete under extreme service conditions.

He is a qualified expert witness in the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta and has also represented clients in arbitrations and mediations on building science and structural issues.
