Leslie is a technical specialist for RJC BC Restoration and Building Science Group. He is involved in project work, technical review, and internal education in materials engineering, building envelope engineering, and structural restoration.
A specialist in evaluating and predicting the durability of steel, concrete and timber structures, Leslie has worked for over 20 years on construction and renovation projects involving specifications for durability and service life, investigation and quantification of damage to structures, and specifications for rehabilitation of structures. He is a recognized authority in his field and teaches courses in both educational and professional settings.
Leslie graduated in structural engineering from the University of Toronto in 1985. He received his Ph.D. in materials engineering from Cambridge University in 1990 and completed the AIBC Building Education Program in 1998. With ten years of engineering experience behind him, he joined RJC in 1998, was made an Associate of the firm in 2002, and Principal in 2006.
He became a LEED Accredited Professional in 2003, a Registered Roofing Consultant and was elected a Fellow of Engineers Canada in 2009.
