Civil Engineering Technologist

Key Responsibilities
• Work on a variety of building science and structural restoration projects, including evaluation and restoration of existing building envelope systems and deteriorated structural systems.
• Provide project drafting; be accountable for production, quality, schedule and efficiency
• Develop finished drawings from detailed sketches and general conceptual information
• Follow company standards for CAD layers, standard details, standard notes
• Site investigation and evaluation of existing buildings
• Technical writing, including production of specifications and reports
• Work within the project team environment from conceptual and preliminary stages of the project design through to its completion
• Coordination with other engineering and architectural disciplines
• Contract administration and construction reviews.
Skills
• Certificate in Civil Engineering Technology from Technical College or Institute, with Major in
• Construction Management
• Concrete and steel drafting and design courses preferred
• Familiarity with MS Office Programs (Excel, Word and Outlook) and Microsoft Windows operating system is required.

• Fast learner with a desire to grow professionally and personally
• Knowledge of Autocad
• Team player with ability to work independently with minimum direction
• Hard worker, ready to assume responsibility quickly, and have fun at the same time
• Demonstrated and effective communication skills
• Ability to conceptualize structural behaviour in three dimensions
• Previous construction experience an asset
