Junior Drafter/Technologist | Building Science & Restoration

Key Responsibilities
Drafting Duties:
- Supervise the production of drawings for building projects
- Generate technical information with minimal guidance and supervision
- Develop finished drawings from general conceptual information and design notes
- Co-ordinate RJC’s drawings with those of other disciplines on projects
- Be accountable to the Project Drafters for drawing production
Engineer/Technologist Duties:
- Assist Project Engineers and Project Managers on the implementation of both building envelop and structural restoration projects during both the assessment and construction stages of the project
- Structural restoration projects, including evaluation / restoration of existing buildings / structures / garages / balconies/ podium decks
- Building envelope projects, including evaluation and rehabilitation of cladding and roofing system
- Monitor and ensure quality control during construction
- Suggest innovative solutions and implement when appropriate
- Fulfill an in-house technical resource role for specific aspects of projects
Skills
- Certificate in civil/structural/architectural drafting / technology from University, Technical college or institute
- Curriculum must have included courses about structural design/rehabilitation and/or building science.
- Project management course experience is a definite asset
- Minimum 2 years of AutoCAD experience
