Senior Project Engineer | Building Science & Restoration

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from conceptual design to final completion
  • Manage small team of Engineers and Technologists and provide senior level technical support
  • Establish and maintain successful client relationships and support ongoing business development initiatives
  • Conduct site investigations of building envelope failures
  • Consult on new construction for building envelope
  • Prepare financial studies / life cycle costing for buildings
  • Formulate building envelope rehabilitation programs and recommend to client
  • Coordinate with other engineering and architectural disciplines
  • Perform contract administration/construction review while implementing work

Skills

  • Degree in civil engineering (structural and/or building science focus) from accredited university
  • Professional Engineer designation from APEGGA
  • Minimum 10 years previous experience in building science – experience in consulting and project management preferred
  • Experience in hygrothermal modeling, glazing, use of curtain wall and other systems, and design of new cladding systems as well as retrofit of existing buildings

  • Aptitude for working with existing facilities
