Read Jones Christoffersen is committed to the principle of sustainable development to help protect our planet's future.

Since our company's founding, we have continued to find innovative structural engineering and building science solutions that are durable and adaptable, whilst minimizing material use and environmental impact. As members of integrated design teams either as structural consultants or building science specialists, we work to develop multi-disciplinary solutions across the whole building. The results are better quality buildings with reduced energy usage, greater building longevity, dramatically improved long term operating costs, and above all, a more pleasant, healthier environment. Many of our buildings have targeted LEED® certifications ranging from Silver to Platinum. We are also actively involved in advocacy and education to ensure a future where sustainable buildings are the norm.

RJC is a member of the both the US and the Canadian Green Building Councils and we have LEED® Accredited Professionals in our offices across Canada. RJC personnel were members of the Technical Committee that developed the CSA S478 Guideline on Durability in Buildings, which is now referenced by CCBC in their LEED® requirements.
