Building For A Growing Health Centre
Chinook Regional Hospital Parkade, Lethbridge, AB
With 813 parking stalls, the new hospital parkade will improve access to the Chinook Regional Hospital for visitors, staff and air ambulances. It will provide much needed visitor and staff parking, and will help to alleviate parking congestion on and around the hospital site. In addition, the parkade supports a new elevated air ambulance helipad.
The parkade was built to accommodate a future planned hospital expansion and is situated to accommodate planned vehicular access routes.
The parkade is designed for economy, ease of construction and durability. To achieve this, the parkade will primarily be precast concrete. Because of the prominent location of the parkade at the hospital, massing and aesthetic treatments to the precast concrete have been designed to integrate the parkade with its surroundings.
