Sparkling Hill Resort and Wellness Hotel is a $122 Million, four-storey European-inspired 149 room hotel/wellness centre situated in the Okanagan region of British Columbia. The resort is nestled in a setting of natural rock rough carved out of the mountain above Predator Ridge Golf Course and includes two levels of underground parking/mechanical space. The entranceway features massive wood doors located at the base of a glimmering 18 metre tall crystal structure. 

This 180,000 square foot resort includes 146 deluxe guest rooms, three penthouses, a fitness facility, an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub. Two restaurants, meeting facilities and several unique wellness spa and treatment rooms add to the destinations allure.

Engineering and construction specifics include:

  • Flat plate concrete slab floors
  • Seismic separation between wings
  • Structural steel atrium
  • Glass supporting structure of convex tubular dome with inter connected triangles held in place by a tension-compression ring along the perimeter
  • Steel space frame entry canopy designed to appear unbalanced on its’ supports

Sparkling Hill was “fast-tracked” to meet a very demanding schedule, officially opening for business in Spring 2010.
