In nearly 20 countries across the globe, from Australia to India, Germany to Japan, RJC has brought structural engineering and building science expertise. Our significant international portfolio includes sector work such as residential, high-rise, industrial and mixed-use.

RJC's achievements span the globe. Our engineers mobilize the expertise that exists throughout the firm and apply it to projects around the world.  Prominent examples of our international experience include a three million square foot mixed use development in India, structural seismic review of the Tokyo Canadian Embassy, a Roman Catholic Cathedral in Bangladesh and one of the largest newsprint mills in Mexico.

With a network of offices across Canada and a host of internationally recognized engineers, RJC's valued clients benefit from convenient access to our top professionals in major Canadian centres and the combined resources of a leading national organization. Grounding our global practice is the delivery of practical, sustainable and economical structures that achieve high quality design aesthetic.

Clients across the world value the input we provide on construction methodology. We are repeatedly hired because of our clear, quality drawing packages and consistency of service. Combining this with our reliable delivery and solid collaboration means accurate costing, quality end products and many satisfied clients.

Our repertoire includes the design of preliminary schemes on multiple concrete high rise towers in Hong Kong and Shanghai, a private residence in Japan, projects in Vietnam and the Caribbean. Our staff were part of the design team for the Darling Harbour Convention Centre in Sydney, Australia - a structural steel structure encompassing 459,000 square feet.

We take great pleasure in contributing our expertise where it's needed most. Our engineers have aided engineering efforts in Haiti and Cambodia.

A world of structure:

Other select projects include:

Quark City | Chandigarh, India: RJC's current project in India will generate three million square feet of development and includes a shopping centre, clinic, cineplex, eight residential towers, a showcase restaurant and office component. RJC is involved in every phase of the project not only as structural engineers, but in all aspects of the design through knowledge we have gained in the North American construction industry.

Base Village at Snowmass | Aspen, Colorado, USA: One of Aspen’s most popular skiing areas was designed to be a hub filled with restaurants, shops, a children’s centre, a condominium hotel, as well as conference and entertainment areas - some thirteen buildings in all. To serve the needs of its residents and visitors, the designs called for three levels of underground parking. In total 750,000 square feet across thirteen buildings, from one to five storeys each, over three levels of underground parking will be built.

Residential Buildings at the Canadian Embassy | Tokyo, Japan: RJC conducted the structural seismic review of eleven residential buildings in Tokyo. These were done in accordance with the seismic design requirements of the local Japanese Building Code for Tokyo and of the National Building Code of Canada for seismic ground motions in the Tokyo area.

Impark Parkade | Seoul, Korea: RJC completed the schematic design of an above-ground 300+ stall carpark using the 'scissor' configuration and a clear span structural system. An alternative plan to accommodate access to twenty shuttle buses was also provided.

Developing structural solutions that help turn our clients’ visions into reality around the world is a hallmark of the Read Jones Christoffersen structural engineering and building science practice.
