Douglas L. Watts

P.Eng., Architect AIBC, CP, LEED® AP, FEC | Principal
Doug has over 35 years of experience in both architecture and engineering. He now practices in the field of building envelope engineering and has extensive field review and contract administration expertise.
Doug is involved in investigations and assessments of existing building envelopes, management of envelope retrofits, and  envelope design consultations with architects for new construction projects. 
His substantial and continuing contributions in the industry were recognized when he was awarded the Professional Service Award from APEGBC in 2006. He was also named a Fellow of Engineers Canada in 2009.
Having worked in prestigious engineering and architectural firms as a university lecturer and a researcher, and as a building envelope specialist for the City of Vancouver, Doug joined RJC in 2002, and was made Principal in 2011. 
Doug graduated with an engineering degree from the University of British Columbia in 1980, and earned his Masters of Architecture at the University of Washington in 1989. He completed the AIBC Building Envelope Education Program in 1999, and the UBC Architecture and Engineering Building Code and Certified Professional Course in 2000.
