Since starting his career in RJC’s Victoria office in 2005, Leon has developed a reputation for creative, economical structural design solutions and exemplary client service. He injects a spirit of cooperation into project teams, and is known for quickly recognizing key project issues and proposing structural solutions. Leon continually pushes the boundaries of structural engineering, and his supportive approach to creative architects has resulted in numerous design awards. His strong communication and mentorship skills have made him a leader in RJC Victoria’s Structural Engineering team.
Leon regularly volunteers for local and international charitable organizations. In the last few years he has travelled to Brazil, Haiti, Cambodia, and Guatemala, where he provided structural design for new buildings.
Leon has diverse experience with many building types, and has managed many of RJC Victoria’s larger projects. Highlights include the Hudson Bay Redevelopment and the Brentwood College Visual Arts Centre, which incorporated heavy timber and structural glass. Leon has special expertise with seismic upgrading of heritage buildings and with mid-rise and heavy timber wood-frame buildings. His commitment to efficient design and good communication has earned the respect and repeat business of many local architects and developers.
