Key Responsibilities

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Timesheet review and posting
  • Time adjustment processing
  • Monitor & review banked/vacation accruals, OT, Sick Time etc
  • Reconcile & remit HST/GST/QST plus other provincial taxes
  • USD bank reconciliation
  • Foreign Exchange system updates
  • Create and post payroll Journals
  • Provide support to the users of our financial system
  • Benefits remittances (AD&D, WCB, etc.)
  • Administer and manage the Short Term Disability fund
  • Preparation of periodical reports such as the Monthly Forecast updates
  • Central support for local office invoicing (A/R)
  • Analyze & reconcile various GL accounts
  • Monthly Journal processing
  • Monitoring/calculation of taxable benefits
  • Ability to provide cover for other accounting department colleagues
  • Ad hoc tasks/troubleshooting as required

Professional Qualifications


  • Completion of accounting courses through a recognized university or college is preferred
  • Registered CPA
  • Minimum 4-8 years of related Accounting experience
  • Familiarity with the consulting engineering and architectural industry will be an asset


  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to self-manage assignments from start to finish with minimal oversight
  • Committed to providing exceptional client service
  • Able to interact professionally with all levels of business personnel and build strong working relationships
