Jocelyn Dickie

Jocelyn draws on her strong academic and consulting experience to provide clients with sound, imaginative solutions. Highly collaborative and a strong project leader, she works with contractors, architects, owners and other engineers to deliver successful projects. Jocelyn leads by example. She is a calm presence, listening closely and providing timely input. Colleagues and clients alike value and appreciate her ability to coordinate and deliver projects.

Jocelyn is a recognized resource and expert with masonry and is called upon to provide input to masonry assessments or designs. She leads in assessing RJC’s tilt-up concrete tools and practices. She is also experienced in designs utilizing heavy timber, light-wood framing, steel, cast-in-place concrete, precast concrete, concrete block and clay brick construction, as well as forensic engineering for owners and insurance companies. Her abilities as an engineer and project manager make her a trusted collaborator who continuously brings quality and value.

Jocelyn graduated from her undergraduate program at University of Idaho with a combined degree in Civil Engineering and business (minor). As an undergraduate, she completed several internships, including with the Washington State Department of Transportation. Jocelyn obtained her Master’s degree from Clemson University in South Carolina working in collaboration with the National Brick Research Center. Following her Masters degree, she pursued her PhD at the University of Calgary focusing on the in-plane shear behavior of reinforced concrete masonry in collaboration with the Canadian Masonry Design Centre. While working on her PhD, Jocelyn was invited to collaborate with an international team of researchers to investigate the performance of masonry buildings following the February 2011 earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand. While in Christchurch, she evaluated over 500 concrete block structures.
