Designed with historical reference to the warehouses that had occupied the neighbourhood in the early 1900s, Calgary’s Centennial Parkade is located in a high traffic area, filled with an eclectic mix of restaurants, pubs, retro movie houses and retail shops. RJC worked closely with the architectural team to ensure that the building’s architectural integrity and vision was never compromised. The three elements of parking configuration, architecture and structural design, were seamlessly integrated to produce a parking facility with an emphasis on architectural excellence. The Parkade’s patrons are ensured security through the building’s clear span structure, excellent lighting, glass-enclosed stairs and elevators, CCTV cameras and emergency help buttons. The Centennial Parkade has won numerous awards, including the International Parking Institute's Award of Excellence.

    • Award of Excellence for Design and Construction in Concrete  |  American Concrete Institute, Alberta Chapter  |  1997
