North Park Manor is a prominent reinforced concrete and structural clay brick masonry residential structure constructed in 1974. It has two joined 12-storey and 16-storey wings constructed atop of a two level underground parkade. The recently completed project included replacement of all windows and glazed entrance doors. All new windows were designed to meet current performance requirements including improved energy efficiency and resistance to water ingress. All roofs were replaced, including two large plaza areas that were covered with precast concrete slabs on pedestals. Part of the project scope included provision of a fall restraint system, complete with roof anchors. Fall protection manuals where provided and RJC has been providing annual review services for the system.
The building’s heating boilers and the main municipal water supply service to the building where also replaced as part of the project, with design support provided by a local consulting mechanical engineering firm. RJC filled the role of Coordinating Registered Professional for the entire project.
