Massey Tower, one of Toronto’s historic landmarks, has undergone a complete revitalization with the development of a new 60-storey mixed-use tower. Designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects, the 673,708 sq. ft. tower with 687 units is wrapped in a fritted glass shroud and patterned by sculpted balconies. The Tower forms a dramatic backdrop to the restored heritage Canadian Bank of Commerce Building. This revitalization brings a new light to the abandoned section along Toronto’s Yonge Street, an important destination for theatre, music and retail. This project won the 2013 BILD Project of the Year and Hi-rise Design of the Year awards, and the OHBA Project of the Year and Most Outstanding High-rise building awards.
