RJC Engineers Announces Retirement of Executive Principal Scott Wallace
On August 31st, RJC Executive Principal Scott Wallace will retire.
Scott has been an integral part of RJC and industry for over 30 years, helping to deliver projects that are centerpieces of development and some of Canada’s most recognizable landmarks.
Scott brought vibrant creativity, commercial instincts and constructability to projects. He led RJC’s delivery of many projects that are centrepieces of development and some of Canada’s most recognizable landmarks. His work is evident in many high-rise residential and commercial office towers throughout Toronto. A recognized expert in the design and planning of parking garages, he continually worked to develop and advance best practices for the betterment of communities and the industry. He was director, vice president and president of the Canadian Parking Association (CPA). In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the parking industry, he received the CPA’s Ted Seeberg Award.
He leaves RJC very different than it was when he joined in 1985. With Scott’s guidance, many aspects of the firm have grown and advanced – the Toronto structural team that he led for many years, RJC’s presence in the Ontario market, parking facility design, and the firm as a whole. He has shaped the careers of many RJCers.
“I found myself fortunate enough to work along side Scott since 1998, as the 17th person in the entire Toronto office” shares Mike Moffatt, Executive Principal. “One of the amazing things about RJC is that we are a unique legacy based firm that empowers its leaders to grow the firm and our people to achieve their highest potential, and to pass the torch of leadership to the next generation. We continue to evolve and grow into a better version of RJC with each step forward.”
As Managing Director, Scott not only led the firm through the uncertainty of a global pandemic but also was a strong advocate for the change in governance structure that RJC now has in place. He helped transition the new Executive, Joette Decore, Mike Moffatt, and Roger Steers, into their roles. With this new structure, and Scott’s input into strategic planning, the impact of his leadership will continue well into RJC’s future.
Thank you Scott for all you have done for RJC, industry, and the many people you have worked with. Enjoy your retirement!
