RJC’s YC Condominiums wins 2019 Tall + Urban Structural Engineering Award

RJC Engineer’s (RJC) YC Condominiums (YC Condos) has been named a recipient of the 2019 Structural Engineering Award of Excellence from the Council on Tall Buildings & Urban Habitat (CTBUH). The award will be handed out in Shenzhen, China at the 2019 Tall + Urban Innovation Conference in April.

YC Condos is a slender 63-storey, 200m residential tower that includes three levels of retail, two levels of office space and five levels of below grade parking. Due to the building’s narrow profile, in order to reduce wind motions, RJC recognized the opportunity to implement Viscoelastic Coupling Dampers (VCD), which were co-developed and implemented by members of Kinetica. YC Condos is the first building in the world to install and utilize this patented technology.
