RJC provided structural engineering services for CIBC SQUARE, a landmark mixed-use office and retail development that enhances the Union Station transportation hub, integrating Toronto’s transit infrastructure with modern office and retail spaces.

The project includes two towers: 81 Bay Street to the south, standing at 49 storeys, and 141 Bay Street to the north, rising 46 storeys.

The towers are linked by an elevated 100m by 30m terraced park platform, offering a seamless urban experience above the rail corridor.

Designed to achieve LEED® Platinum certification, the development spans 2. 7 million square feet of office and retail space.

The design features a seven-storey podium, three levels of retail, and a new GO Bus Terminal that enhances the connectivity of Union Station as a central transit hub. The elevated park provides public green space above the rail corridor, creating a dynamic, pedestrian-friendly environment.

The project is a key part of the ongoing transformation of the downtown core, contributing to both the city’s infrastructure and its public spaces.
