The Indigenous Peoples Experience (IPE) at Fort Edmonton Park is Canada’s largest and most interactive cultural centre showcasing the life and history of both First Nations and Métis people and their stories.

The vision for the IPE was to be a living museum with year-round programming for public, tourism, and educational opportunities.

The IPE includes dedicated new buildings containing First Nations and Métis exhibits, programming, artifacts, graphics and media to bring the halls to life and offer a more complete picture of the role of Indigenous people in the development of the Edmonton region.

The IPE offers learning spaces to support additional Indigenous programming and learning opportunities for schools and community groups to utilize.

As the Structural Engineer of Record for this project, RJC's scope includes providing structural design, drawings, specifications and other supporting documents, as well as field review of construction.

The IPE was awarded a Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement - Heritage Centre in 2021 and the Urban Land Institute Americas Award of Excellence in 2022.
