The 22,000 sq. ft. Visitor Centre, valued at $12.2 million, was part of the revitalization plan for the Bicentennial Commemoration of the War of 1812.
The facility informs and educates the public on the history of the great site.
Interactive, audio visual media techniques are incorporated into the design to tell the story of site through the ‘time tunnel’ experience; an immersive digital media space that brings the rich history of Fort York to life.
The Visitor Centre creates a unique identity for the Fort and further establishes it as a significant landmark and tourist attraction in Toronto.
