The Kekinow Housing Complex project in Surrey, BC involved the replacement of existing windows and sliding doors, as well as mechanical upgrades to the roof.

As Prime Consultant, providing both Building Enclosure and Structural Engineering services, RJC coordinated the sub-consultants including mechanical and electrical engineering as well as the General Contractor.

Following the completion of the window and door replacements and the mechanical upgrades, RJC continued to work with the Clients and performed a full building enclosure restoration, which included the exterior wall, balcony and roof assemblies, as well as water piping replacement.

In order to improve the thermal performance and occupant comfort of the housing complex, RJC’s Building Enclosure Team added exterior insulation.

This project was completed in time to meet BC Housing and Kekinow Native Housing Society’s completion date to receive full funding for the project through the HRP Program.
