The Red Fish Healing Centre for Mental Health & Addiction is a design-built project now open on the Riverview lands site in Coquitlam.

The $85M Centre provides 105 beds for patients from across BC who live with substance abuse and mental health issues.

Wood tones and natural light are used throughout and all spaces are carefully designed to promote healing while ensuring the safety and security of staff and patients.

The steeply sloping site allows for access to grade at multiple levels, while the building was shaped to prevent any disturbance to the rare and historic trees on the site.

RJC designed an economical concrete flat slab structural system to work with the building’s unique geometry and the challenges of the sloping site.

Slabs were engineered to reduce reshore requirements to allow for a more rapid start to fit out work.
