The 2017 Project Awards were presented at the ICRI Fall Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana on Thursday, November 16, 2017. The Project Awards honor and recognize outstanding projects in the concrete repair industry. Entries from around the world are judged on their uniqueness, use of state-of-the-art methods, use of materials, functionality, value engineering, and aesthetics. The judging panel of five — selected by the ICRI Awards Committee — included engineers, contractors and manufacturers from all across North America.

Edmonton’s John E. Brownlee Building has been awarded the TOBY Award for “Best Government Building” by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of Canada. This prestigious award is recognized in the industry as the most respected and comprehensive program of its kind in the commercial real estate industry, as it showcases quality in commercial buildings and rewards excellence in building management.

RJC Engineers’ Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, gained international recognition after being named on National Geographic’s 10 Must-Have Experiences in Alberta. With a majority of the attractions being made up of outdoor experiences, including trips to Jasper, Kananaskis and Drumheller, Studio Bell was the only building on the list. Together with the world renowned Calgary Exhibition and Stampede, the Music Centre was the only other Calgary destination to make the list.
