On June 5, the Order of Architects of Quebec (OAQ) announced the winners of its 2020 award recipients and distinctions. The event took place during a live interactive meeting, among 73 applications received, 15 projects were awarded.

RJC Engineer’s (RJC) River City Phase 3, won an Award of Excellence for the Multifamily buildings and residential complexes category, as well as a Sustainable Development mention. The building is the third phase, out of four, and constitutes a unique, innovative residential complex open to the various landscapes that surround it.

The project is a 32-storey, 320,000 sq. ft. residential tower with eye-catching architectural boxes on the west exterior building elevation that were achieved utilizing cantilevered concrete walls.

"It was a creative structural challenge to frame those cantilevers and build them way up in the air" according to RJC Principal Brent Lodge.
