Edmonton’s Mill Woods Library, Senior & Multicultural Centre has achieved LEED® Gold certification from the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC). The certification distinguishes building projects that have established a commitment to sustainability by meeting the highest performance standards.

RJC Engineers provided building envelope consulting for the centre and assisted the design team with the LEED Durable Building credit, which focuses on minimization of material use and construction waste over a building’s life.

Located in the community of Mill Woods in the southeast of Edmonton, the centre officially opened in the fall of 2015. Home to a new 25, 000 sq. ft. public library, the unique 2-storey facility shares the second floor with the Mill Woods Seniors Activity and Multicultural Centre. The space offers an outlet where residents can partake in a variety of programs and services such as art and exercise classes, educational presentations and monthly dinners. The centre provides an inclusive, inviting and flexible space that meets the present and future needs of the community.
