JJ Bean at CBC Studio
The JJ Bean coffee house on the CBC Studio Plaza in Vancouver has a distinctive structure and cladding.
RJC provided consulting for the cladding concepts and detailing of the enclosure systems.
The project included the sloped green roof over a laminated timber roof structure, the glass panel cladding over the laminated wood wall structure, and waterproofing of the CBC studio roof that is under the JJ Bean building.
Other aspects of the building include a more conventional wood cladding over rainscreen wall assemblies.
The building is located on the CBC Cultural Plaza which was a portion of another RJC project, renovation the CBC studios and facades prior to the 2010 Olympics.
