Candidate Profile

RJC is looking for a Civil Technologist to join our Civil group located in our Edmonton office. This position is responsible for the delivery of drawings on various civil projects from zero lot-line buildings to large and complex overland drainage systems and parking lots. The successful candidate is a self-motivated, fast learner with the desire to continually learn and grow. A commitment to providing exceptional client service and developing technical expertise to deliver practical, creative solutions is essential.

 

Key Responsibilities

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Work as part of a team, in the delivery of civil development and remediation projects in the waste management, municipal infrastructure, lot design and grading, roads and transportation, sectors.
  • Assist in the design of replacement underground water, sewer, stormwater infrastructure and access roads.
  • Co-ordinate RJC’s drawings with those of other disciplines on projects.
  • Process survey, imagery, GIS and other available data to set up projects in Civil 3D
  • Assist with developing and maintaining schedules, budgets, and quality control standards.
  • Provide project drafting and be accountable for schedule and efficiency.
  • Infrastructure assessments and studies
  • Partake in workload and project meetings.

 

Professional Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology 
  • Technically proficient in Civil 3D and AutoCAD
  • 5+ years’ experience in construction and/or consulting services 
  • Demonstrates effective communication between teammates and clients
  • Brings an adaptable open-mind approach to problem solving
  • Take proactive responsibility, holds oneself accountable to quality of standards and efficiency
  • Takes initiative and identifies opportunities for growth and continuous improvement
  • Deadline driven, excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Responds to internal and external client communications and needs in a timely manner
