Tim Van Zwol

BASc, MSc, P.Eng. | Regional Manager, Principal

Tim brings a strong team spirit combined with practical and theoretical talent. He spent the first part of his career as a structural engineer, designing new buildings and expansions. His work included the design and construction administration of large public, commercial, institutional and residential condominium projects. His experience with new building construction and project management enable Tim to truly understand original design intent of existing buildings, providing him with valuable background when completing investigations and rehabilitations for aging structures.

As part of the Building Science and Restoration team at RJC's Kitchener office, Tim is involved in a wide range of challenging and complex projects. He is experienced with structural load reviews, as well as renovations and seismic upgrades for existing buildings and structures. He is responsible for overseeing projects from start to finish, including pre-design assessments, design, tendering and contract administration.

Tim graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He furthered his formal education with a Masters in Structural Engineering from the University of Alberta after receiving a full Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) scholarship. He has continued his professional development by completing Construction Specifications Canada’s ‘Principals of Construction Documentation’ and ‘Construction Contract Administration.’
