Part of the Simon Fraser University (SFU) Residence & Housing Master Plan for 2015-2035 includes the addition and expansion to student housing buildings at the Burnaby Campus.

RJC was brought on to provide strutural engineering for phase one and two of the project.

Located on the former Louis Riel Residence Site, phase one includes an eight-storey west building and a seven-storey east building that consists of 482 single rooms designed for first year students with a total area of 178,700 sq. ft. In addition, phase one includes an expansion to the dining hall which consists of a 54,300 sq. ft. addition.

Located on the Madge Jogarth Site of the Campus, phase two includes two apartment residences - a 12-storey tower and a three-storey low rise.

At a total of 142,500 sq. ft., the two buildings provide students with two bedroom apartments with a total of 399 beds and office space.
