A tall mass timber project, 1901 Jerome Road demonstrates unique challenges for the design team to comply with the requirements of Step 3 and Step 4 of the BC Energy Step Code.

RJC was retained as the building performance, building enclosure and structural consultant for this project.

The project must demonstrate compliance with the energy and thermal comfort criteria of Step 3 of the BC Energy Step Code.

RJC also explored different building enclosure assemblies and fenestration options to evaluate the additional costs associated with compliance with Step 4 of the BC Energy Step Code.

Several Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) and Thermal Comfort Measures (TCMs) were identified to meet the requirements of the BC Energy Step Code.
