The Learning and Innovation Centre, a gateway to the academic centre of Royal Road University (RRU) campus, provides contemporary educational technology and learning facilities that enable the University to respond to its strategic growth plans.

Respecting and enhancing the National Historic Site, this four-storey building, supported by a solid concrete base, utilizes split-face concrete masonry veneer on an exterior insulated rainscreen wall assembly as the exterior finish for a large percentage of the exterior wall area.

Large-scale punched aluminum windows and continuous horizontal curtain wall window bands are utilized.

The upper floor faces the southwest, with a panoramic view of the Olympic Mountains in Washington across the Juan du Fuca Strait.

A four-storey glazed atrium in the Learning and Innovation Centre clearly defines the ‘front door’ to the RRU campus.

The building received LEED Gold certification in 2013.
