HSBC Place, located in downtown Edmonton, is a 317,000 sq. ft., 18-storey tower constructed in the 1980s.
The intent of this redevelopment project was to optimize the competitive position of HSBC in the office marketplace and create a building that meets “AA” classification.
The scope included demolition down to the superstructure, recladding utilizing a triple-glazed curtain wall system and floor-to-ceiling view glass in the office areas, new mechanical and electrical systems, and a revitalized two-storey lobby where a second floor structural glass bridge was also installed.
