The 2019 CISC Alberta Steel Design Awards of Excellence recognizes the best in steel design across seven categories. Architects, design engineers and project team members submitted their projects for judging by what has become the largest steel design awards program in Canada.

RJC Engineers (RJC) is proud to be a part of this year’s winning design team, earning the Collaboration Award for 61st Avenue SW Pedestrian Bridge. This award is presented to project teams who demonstrate “value added” to a project through collaborative project delivery approaches throughout the design and/or construction process.

As prime consultant on the project, RJC developed multiple bridge alignments, access structure options and unique span configurations. A harmonious relationship between the bridge design and its urban environment was a key measure of the project’s success.
