A panel of industry experts has finalized the challenging task of selecting the winners of Engineering News Record’s 6th Annual Global Best Projects competition. ENR’s Global Best Projects recognizes project teams behind outstanding design and construction efforts. Submission criteria include that at least one firm involved in the project must be working outside of its home country, there could not have been any construction-related fatalities and the project’s completion had to be between January 1, 2017 and April 30, 2018.

Judges picked 22 diverse projects from 14 countries on every continent, but Antarctica. Deciding factors considered were safety performance, innovations, challenges, design and construction quality — with special emphasis on the diversity of global project teams and their collaboration.

Of these 22 selected projects, RJC Engineers’ (RJC) Cadillac Fairview Eaton Centre Pedestrian Bridge, located in Toronto, Ontario, earned the Award of Merit for Specialty Construction. Being the structural engineers on top of providing structural glass and bridge design services for the project, RJC is honoured to receive this award for such a unique project, that will be featured in the upcoming October 2018 Issue of ENR.
