Award-Winning Projects in Focus
RJC’s Toronto portfolio earned six CTBUH Awards of Excellence, all now in contention for Overall Category honours:
- TD Terrace – Best Tall Building, Americas: a 47-storey vertical campus whose offset core and long-span framing deliver LEED Platinum offices and a dramatic sky garden.
- CIBC SQUARE I – Urban Habitat Award: 49-storey tower bridged to a one-acre SkyPark; RJC designed the steel transfer trusses that span the rail corridor and support the elevated park.
- CIBC SQUARE II – Innovation Award (Component: Cast Steel): custom cast-steel nodes create a refined diagrid and accelerate erection on the 50-storey second tower.
- The Well – Urban Habitat Award: a 7-acre mixed-use precinct whose glass-canopied public spine and varied podium spans were enabled by RJC’s complex structural solutions.
- One Bloor West – Structure Award: 306 m supertall stabilized by high-strength concrete core and staged outriggers, achieving slenderness without compromising stiffness or floor area.
- One Bloor West – Construction Award: Top-down excavation, self-climbing formwork, and prefabricated mega-truss nodes accelerated delivery while minimizing street-level disruption.
What Are the CTBUH “Overall Category Winners”?
CTBUH Awards of Excellence recognize outstanding achievements in tall buildings and urban design across categories like structure, construction, and innovation.
At the annual conference, these finalists compete for the title of Overall Category Winner—the highest honour in each category. These winners represent the most exceptional global projects in their class, selected by an international panel of experts for advancing technical, architectural, and urban outcomes.
